ROGERS, AR – Generations Bank is pleased to welcome Michael Hoggard to the team as Chief Financial Officer. This decision comes after the appointment of the bank’s current Chief Financial Officer, Sandy Ferguson, to the newly created role of Chief Risk Officer.

With the bank nearing $1 Billion in total assets, the addition of Hoggard as Chief Financial Officer and the appointment of Ferguson to Chief Risk Officer add much-needed resources to continue the bank’s growth plan.

With more than 40 years of community banking experience, Ferguson will spearhead the bank’s risk management program. Ferguson first began her banking career in 1981 on the front lines of the Junction City branch as a teller. She has played a pivotal part in the bank’s success and growth, working in every department throughout her tenure.

Ferguson volunteers with local shooting sports clubs in both NWA and Junction City. She was recognized in 2021 by Arkansas Money in Politics as Powerful Women in Banking, Arkansas Money and Politics Power Women of 2021, Arkansas Bankers Association 40 Year Milestones in Banking, and a recent finalist for Arkansas Business 2023 Bank CFO of the Year.

“As the bank grows and becomes more complex, it’s time to have dedicated leadership in both key roles,” said Jon Harrell, CEO and Chairman of Generations Bank. “Sandy has provided excellent leadership as CFO, enabling Michael to step into the role with a solid department already in place. Many functions of the CRO role have been handled within Sandy’s department for a few years now, and her leadership will be invaluable as we continue to navigate through safely and soundly risk managing our growing bank.”

Hoggard will serve as the bank’s new Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all finance activities for the bank and advising the management team on emerging trends and how to best use financial reporting in the decision-making process.

Hoggard joins the bank with over a decade of experience in financial auditing services and seven years as Controller for an Arkansas bank. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Harding University.
